Get Ready for Insect Season with Buzz Off Insect Repellant
Dear Oilers,
Depending on where you live, it may be time to get you, your loved ones, including companion animals ready for "insect season".
With the vast beauty of the earth blossoming in the northeast of the US it is impossible not to want to walk admist the greenery. Trails, paths, streets...wherever we live this is a time to enjoy, not fear.
In Young Living, with the best products for self-care, we can share, gather and help each other prevent problems.
Here's a wonderful idea that you can do, share with others you care about and host gatherings to help each other.
Buzz Off Insect Repellent Spray
Need to get:
- Cobalt Blue Bottles - best prices are at specialtybottle.com.
You will need 1 ounce bottles with atomizer for traveling, walking, etc. 2 or 4 ounce bottles with atomizer for home/office/car.
For animals in heavily infested areas purchase the Cobalt Blue Boston Round Glass Bottle 1/2 oz w/ Dropper.
*Cats need a much more diluted version of just Purification and Lavender.
- Distilled water is best. (If you can't for some reason just make sure no chlorine, fluoride, etc.)
- From Young Living: Purification, Lavender (St. Marie's Lavender may be better for this purpose, however they are both effective) and Peppermint.
- For 1 ounce spray bottle:
- 2 drops Peppermint
- 2 drops Lavender
- 4 drops Purification
- Top it off with water.
Simply double the recipe for 2 ounces, and so forth.
To label, onlinelabels.com have WEATHERPROOF labels. You can write on them or if you have a laser printer you can make beautiful labels. We have done this routinely for a local Veterinarian, Dr. Gerald Buchoff, who claims it is the best insect repellant he has used.
*Cats floral spray:
- 4 ounce bottle:
- 2 drops Lavender
- 4 drops Purification
- Top it off with water.
½ ounce bottle with medicine dropper can be used to prepare a mix of equal amounts of Lavender and Peppermint and twice the amount of Purification. Fill it up. Drops can be placed on animals weighing 50 lbs or more between the shoulder blades.
Frequency of spraying differs for all of us, you simply need to notice what works for you and your pets, same with undiluted blend.
We live in a lake community with acres of woods behind us. Our 2 cats who are inside/outside ladies, haven't had a flea in years, and about 10 ticks over 5 years.
We carry a one ounce spray bottle and spray our heads/caps, shoes, face (very refreshing) when outside. Last walk I took off my cap and there was a dead tick lying there thanks to Buzz Off!
To a happy and healthy outdoors journey,
Nancy Weber, your Young Living upline
