I was recently asked what essential oil is used as a deodorant. Here's the answer I gave.
Lavender oil is used and so is Ylang Ylang. Just remember ONLY Young Living is safe for skin and especially by the lymph system. Lavender normally grows with camphor in it which can burn your skin. This Lavender although the same species as many on the market, is FDA approved as a food. We drink 1 drop of it in an ounce of water and because it is loaded with anti-histamines, the allergy sufferer can feel quick relief without other effects. It is nicknamed the swiss army knife because of it's many uses.
I personally, as does a lot of friends, use a tiny dab of Thieves toothpaste (any of them) from Young Living. Oddly enough it is the most powerful deodorant we have found and the clove oil and the cinnamon (in toothpaste is "quiet" on the skin. It goes in and truly cleans out stuff. After using for 3 months I had a tiny lump under one armpit. YEA! I knew that whatever was in it didn't belong in my body and came from probably many years ago before I went organic. I kept using the Thieves and within days the lump was destroyed and no more lump and the knowledge that something that could have eventually caused me problems was gone.
