TMJ Healing Stories

I was at a training in Ontario, Canada a few years ago, when Gary worked on a lady that had TMJ. First he had her lay the back of her head on his chest as he stood behind her and massaged Frankincense all through her hair and over her cheeks and then he used Oregano the same way. Next he used Valor on the jaw hinges.

Now this lady had not been able to open her mouth for years because of and illness that caused her jaws to lock.

As Gary was working on her jaws with the Valor her jaws flew open and she walked around the floor opening her mouth. She could not believe that she could do that after so many year not being able to. She was so happy that she couldn't quit. Gary then said in his teasing voice, well it looks like we need to find an oil that will close the mouth. There was not a dry eye in the audience.

Why Gary used frankincense and oregano first was to remove the virus.

So as you read through the testimonies you will see that there are many reasons that can cause TMJ. If you know what is going on in this person's life you can use the oils for that purpose. For instance, if there is a lot of stress then use Stress Away, Peace & Calming, even Tramua Life. Aroma Siez to relax the muscles can help. Nancy

Maybe this will help you -TMJ- I have a slight problem with it - but it acted up severely yesterday. I put PanAway on 2x & seemed to have no relief - later & at bed I put a lot of lavender on & this AM had virtually no symptoms. Tonight feel great. Genette Henderson

Hello, Gary demonstrated a TMJ technique at a class in 2000 that he used Valor on the jaw point and massaged in (Very painful) then had the person open their mouth and pushed the jaw forward with his thumbs while his index fingers were at the jaw hinge point. Very big release. I have clients use valor at nite and rub it in that spot. Helps them lots. Cindy Cindy Engle

I just had a really neat oil experience with my TMJ. I am a singer...I have had TMJ struggles since high school. About a month ago, it got SO bad that I could not lie my cheek (jaw) on a PILLOW...it hurt SO bad!

I went to my chiropractor, and it took her about half an hour of massage to get the muscle relaxed enough to adjust...then she aligned my jaw. THAT felt better, but I still hurt a LOT! So, we muscle tested my on oils...I had been using Balsam, Relieve It, PanAway and Peppermint.. .NONE of them had alleviated the PAIN! BUT...GOLDENROD oil came up as the oil I needed to be using...???

I was BAFFLED, but came home and put three drops of Goldenrod oil on my jaw muscle twice a day. After TWO applications. ..the pain was at about 20% of what it had been! So...I got curious, and looked up Goldenrod in my EO books...it is an ANTI-inflammatory oil! That is why it worked so well! Goldenrod oil saved my life! I am a singer and have ALWAYS had issues...until I used Goldenrod... never a sniff again! Also, I'd use Balsam with it! Just thought I'd share! Jess

If you're talking about TMJ problems, I have them as well. What has worked for me and kept me from having surgery is 1) chiropractic adjustments to the atlas and jaw joints (with an activator, very low impact); 2) drinking lots more water to keep the joints properly hydrated; 3) MSM; and 4) Valor blend rubbed on the jaw joints every night before bed.

-Hi, , I've used Valor for my and my aunt's TMJ...just rubbed Valor around the jaw area, especially the jaw joint. Our TMJ went away. Be well, Jeannie

According to my dentist I need to wear the 'piece' for TMJ at night, and I'm just not diligent even after spending all that money in having it made :-) --because I decided I'd use the oils instead. I've recently gone through a period of great stress. I suddenly felt my jaw feel SO tight that I actually got a little afraid. There was of course one thing to do. Go to my oil bag. Looking over them Aroma Siez is what 'called' to me - I applied it all along the jaws and honestly, my jaws relaxed and the tightness just melted away! Love our oils ! Kiki

Depression and TMJ

Diane writes,

In part, I get very depressed a lot; I feel very overwhelmed sometimes and very unfocused in my efforts; I also have TMJ and scoliosis. I have tried many different things for both, but >nothing has worked.

Dr. Tracy's answer: Jacquelyn: This is Dr. Ann Blake Tracy. I just spoke at the Young Living convention on antidepressants. I have specialized in the new SSRI antidepressants for the past twelve and a half years. I am author of the book Prozac: Panacea or Pandora? Our Serotonin Nightmare (800-280-0730) and have testified as an expert witness in cases involving these drugs for ten years.

Most important for you to know is that every symptom you mention (inability to focus, depression, TMJ, migraines, overwhelm, back problems, etc.) is the result of ELEVATED levels of serotonin -- the exact action of antidepressants. Your so-called "medication" is the cause of your problems and that is why nothing seems to be helping. You must first remove the culprit.

The main function of serotonin is constriction of muscle tissue. This is why TMJ is such a common problem with the drugs and they cause so many other muscular/skeletal problems. I am sure you are suffering many more of the side effects of these drugs -- with no idea they are happening as a result of something you thought was helping. Coming off these meds is not an easy thing unless you use many alternative treatments to compensate for the damage and depletion produced by these drugs.

I also have produced an audio tape on how to withdraw safely from these drugs (800-280-0730) . This tape is the result of over a decade of working with patients coming off the drugs. NEVER attempt a rapid withdrawal. It is much too dangerous and produces long- lasting adverse after effects. There are many oils that are very helpful in rebuilding after these drugs. You will find those listed in my book and can find much info on our website at www.drugawareness. org. Dr. Ann Blake Tracy, Executive Director, International Coalition For Drug Awareness www.drugawareness. org and author of Prozac: Panacea or Pandora? Our Serotonin Nightmare (800- 280-0730)
