Essential Oils, the Unique YL Angle
YL Essential Oils are packed with concentrated super nutrients like limonene. d-Limonene is the major component of the oil extracted from citrus rind. When citrus fruits are juiced, the oil is pressed out of the rind. This oil is separated from the juice, and distilled to recover certain flavor and fragrance compounds. The bulk of the oil is left behind and collected. This is food grade d-Limonene. After the juicing process, the peels are conveyed to a steam extractor. This extracts more of the oil from the peel. When the steam is condensed, a layer of oil floats on the surface of the condensed water. This is technical grade d-Limonene.
Studies have shown that limonene have anti- cancer effects. Limonene increase the levels of liver enzymes involved in detoxifying carcinogens. Internal consumption of essential oils is one of the most powerful ways we can benefit from their cancer reducing properties.

Remember that Orange and Lemon oil are two of the highest sources for limonene. This study is a powerful example of how important it is that we get limonene in our daily diet. Researchers found that by consuming foods that were only supplemented with 2% limonene cut cancer risk by 50%.
Lemon Oil Improves Liver Detoxification
Gary Posner at the Johns Hopkins University found that limonene dramatically boosts glutathione in the liver .Glutathione is an antioxidant that helps protect cells from toxins such as free radicals.
With the oils in NingXia Red it makes it the most awesome whole food drink. Which supports the whole body.
NingXia Red increase Immunity 81% Many disease, including heart disease, cancer, and even aging, have been linked to excess production of free radicals, such as superoxide, singlet oxygen, and hydroxyl radicals.
There are a wide variety of oxide free radicals but SUPEROXIDE is the most common free radical in the human body and has triple the harmful effect. The Antioxidant (Polysaccharides in NingXia Red) neutralize the free radicals.
NingXia wolfberry preparation makes up 50% of every bottle. It is the powerful backbone of this amazing drink. Nutrients that improve virtually every biochemical process. Whole fruit (skins, seeds, pulp) Powerful antioxidant, rich in immune-stimulating polysaccharides, and cell protective anti-inflammatory action. Plus other high antioxidant fruit in NingXia Red making it the most powerful whole food drink. Research at Department of Pathophysiology, Beijing Medical University, 1998, found that the NingXia wolfberry polysaccharides reduces systolic blood pressure by 23% and reduces diastolic blood pressure by 21%. Hypothesized that the woilfberry polysaccharide relaxes blood vessels and decreases vasoconstriction by boosting levels of endothelium-derived relaxatin factor (EDRF).
You have more nutrients to fuel the bodies vital cellular energy systems, more immune boosting and clinically proven polysaccharides, and of course a broader range of more bioactive antioxidant activity to slow down the hands of time like never before. But the most spectacular increased was in the levels of the vital and rare nutrient SOD. (Antioxidant)
I am giving you a challenge, which would you like do, eat all of this, (4 lbs. carrots, 8 oranges, 2qts of carrot juice, 1 pint of orange juice, 2lbs of raw beets, 2 cups of beet juice, 3 cups of blueberries, and 2 cups of raspberries), or drink 1 oz of NingXia Red? You get the same benefits with both.
Clarification on Benzene Concerns
Recent news reports have raised some alarm regarding benzene levels in some soft drinks above the EPA ½ is (Environmental Protection Agency) legal 5ppb (parts per billion) limit for drinking water. In some instances these soft drinks contained up to 82 ppb (parts per billion). The reports say that ½ is possible when vitamin C, and sodium benzoate, a common preservative, react under certain circumstances benzene levels in these soft drinks can increase. Since NingXia Red contains Vitamin C and sodium benzoate a few distributors have called with questions and Young Living felt like it was a great opportunity to illustrate once again how healthy, clean and natural NingXia Red is. We remain supremely confident that everyone can and should benefit by drinking NingXia Red every day of their life.
Here are the key points as they relate to NingXia Red :
- The EPA sets a stringent 5 ppb limit and the WHO (World Health Organization) sets a 10 ppb limit
for drinking water suppliers. These limits are set because of the large amount of water people
normally consume and because benzene does not naturally appear in drinking water high benzene
levels can warn of bigger problems, like petrochemical leaks in the groundwater.
- On the other hand, world regulatory agencies can ½ it set benzene limits for foods and beverages, because benzene occurs at normal natural levels in our food supply, i.e. eggs (1000-1900 ppb) haddock fish (200 ppb) beef (10 ppb) and at even lower levels in organic fruits/veggies.
- Even though NingXia Red is a whole fruit infusion product and is not required to meet drinking water guidelines it tests at a miniscule 4 ppb. This is not only below the EPA's and WHO's stringent drinking water guidelines it is at the expected natural level considering the concentration of it's whole fruit ingredients.
More information if required can be on-hand.
A background on benzene is helpful. First, benzene is a chemical that occurs in many materials synthetic and natural. 99% of the benzene we get is inhaled as it is produced by man-made things like paint, plastic and detergent vapors. A small amount of natural benzene is also ingested at much lower levels when consuming normal, natural foods. Eggs(1900 ppb) fish (200ppb) and even the most organic, nutrient dense meats, fruits and vegetables all contain some benzene. This is why world regulatory bodies can't set benzene limits for foods and beverages.
Under certain conditions, ascorbic acid (vitamin C) can possibly react with the preservative sodium benzoate to create benzene. Young Living Essential Oils tested NingXia Red ½ for the presence of benzene and the results show a minimal presence of benzene of 4 parts per billion (4 ppb). Most of this is due to the dark pigmented and highly beneficial fruits used in NingXia Red.
The following information may be helpful in understanding benzene safety issues:
The alarm was raised because one diet soda tested at 25 ppb before exposure to heat and 82 ppb following heat exposure. This is in a drink that provides little if any benefit.
The EPA has set the safety level for drinking water at 5 ppb, the World Health Organization has set its safety level at 10 ppb
There are no regulatory limits in the world for benzene in finished soft drinks or juices Benzene is found naturally in fruit, vegetables, meat, eggs, and some dairy products in minute amounts usually much greater than NingXia Red.
Because NingXia Red is a literal fruit infusion beverage, it is likely that the minimal amount of benzene found in NingXia Red comes naturally from concentrated whole fruit.
To put it all in perspective, one serving of NingXia Red equates to 0.12 mcg (micrograms) of naturally occurring benzene while one cooked egg can have up to 190 mcg naturally occurring benzene.
